WHO WILL YOU BE?

WHO WILL YOU BE?
That’s the question challenging me.

Will you be the one to lay down your hate?
To make peaceful amends before it’s too late?

Will you treat every human being the same?
Regardless of the importance attached to their name.

Will you learn to fully let go of the past?
Not be anxious for the future and let the moment last?

Will you be wise enough to know when to say no?
Will you defy the madness of the status quo?

Will you be brave enough to give of yourself?
And sacrifice something for someone else?

Will people remember you for remembering people?
Will you care for the ones who are outcast and feeble?

Will you come to understand that it’s not about you?
And then actually believe it in all that you do?

Will you ask for help when you know you need it?
Then thankfully and graciously openly receive it?

Will you be humble enough to say, ‘These things aren’t mine,
I am only borrowing them for a period of time.’

Will you be the one to do something about it?
And have the faith to believe when most highly doubt it?

Will you stand by your principles regardless of the cost?
Will you decide to have hope when all seems lost?

Will you get back up when you’ve been knocked down?
Will you do the right thing when no one’s around?

Will you choose to do good when you want to be bad?
Will you fight to stay calm when you’re incredibly mad?

WHO WILL YOU BE?
Yes, that’s the question challenging me.

Will you answer honestly?
If so, WHO WILL YOU BE?
