It’s a question that’s gotten so many perplexed.
Like… what about next week? next month? next year?
What’s the passage like to there from here?
Some try to force it, while others make plans,
There are those that just fly by the seat of their pants.
Some worry, and scurry, and hurry along,
When nothing changes they think - is there something wrong?
Very few just trust and believe,
That what happens next, is a gift we receive.
It could very well be a pleasant surprise,
A shock to the system; some hellos or good-byes.
It may bring you low or it may take you high,
Only time will tell and only God knows why.
Perhaps, you’ll enter a new phase of life,
Step out of the darkness and into the light.
Or maybe you’ll have to sit and endure,
A trial or temptation of which you’re unsure.
WHAT’S NEXT? is a journey with twists and with turns,
And worthwhile lessons that each person learns.
Like patience is a virtue, the truth sets you free,
You can’t take it with you, and it’s not about me.
So move forward in faith, again and again,
In the path of the Alpha & Omega… amen.
Be thankful for each breath and beat of your heart,
For each happy ending, and each brand new start.
And every time you win and every time you lose,
And every time you have the chance to choose.
Live in the moment, one day at a time,
Be present in spirit, in body, in mind.
For tomorrow will come at a pace of it’s own,
Though it may move slower if you moan and you groan.
And finally when death comes to call,
WHAT’S NEXT is the greatest adventure of all.
