REMEMBER

REMEMBER who you are,
Where you came from and how you made it this far.

Don’t overlook the fact that there’s no one like you,
Who can think like you think, who can do what you do.

REMEMBER what you are capable of,
How you have the ability to rise above.

And be assured that even on your darkest day,
There’s light inside you to guide the way.

REMEMBER there are others that need you there,
To teach them, to love them, to let them know you care.

Never forget, striving for peace is the best way to live,
Fighting waste energy, train your self to forgive.

REMEMBER no matter how great you get,
You should humbly keep your pride in check.

Look back, when needed, to recall your mistakes,
Not to dwell in the past but to realize what it takes.

REMEMBER those that laid the path before you,
Revere the hills and valleys they had to go through.

Don’t take for granted a moment of your time,
Appreciate the sweetness of aging and the energy of your prime.

REMEMBER that you don’t know everything,
Revel in the epiphanies each moment may bring.

Realize that there’s something greater,
That you will discover sooner or later.

REMEMBER the people that helped you along,
That stood by your side, even when you were wrong.

For friends are the currencies of existence,
They’re valuable, worth protecting with persistence.

And so, from January to December,
Don’t forget, to always REMEMBER.
